Course Description: An advanced course focusing on the tools and methods of studying the Bible. Biblical principles of interpretation are presented. Personal Bible Study is the prerequisite for this course.

Course Objectives:

1. To familiarize the student with more resource books in Bible study that are available.

2. To introduce the student to principles of interpretation.

3. To develop skills of exegesis.

Course Requirements:

1. WORKSHEETS. Listen carefully to each lesson, taking thorough notes as you do. Then answer the Review Questions on the Worksheet at the end of the lesson. All 12 Worksheets will be sent back to the C.L.T.I. office at the end of the course.

2. EXAM. There will be one exam at the end of the course. Questions will be taken from the Worksheets. This exam will need to be proctored.

3. STUDY PROJECT. The major part of the course involves the Study Project. Each lesson Worksheet guides the student through the Study Project. This involves two aspects:

A. Reading from the two texts by Ken Malmin. Check off the reading assignment on the Worksheet when you have completed it.
B. Workshop Assignments. Various assignments will be given from the texts by Malmin utilizing the resource books provided with the course. Although these assignments may be found in the text, another copy is provided at the end of this Learning Packet for the student's convenience. The completed assignments will be mailed in to the C.L.T.I. office at the end of the course.
