Course Description:

A leadership development course focusing on how to define, impart and implement biblical vision and philosophy. This course explores the dynamics of biblical vision as understood theologically and conceptually. It then explores the principles need to advance vision.

Texts:

Vanguard Leader by Frank Damazio (Portland: Bible Temple Publishing, 1994).

The Purpose Driven Church by Rick Warren (Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 1995).

The Power Of Vision by George Barna (Ventura: Regal Books, 1992).

Course Objectives:

1. To impart an understanding of the importance of vision in effective leadership.

2. To provide students with the resources needed to interpret the 21st century context for ministry.

3. To give the student insight and assistance in applying theological themes to practical problems in implementing vision.

4. To development vision advancement themes as it pertains to the building of the local church.

Course Requirements:

1. Listen carefully to each lesson, taking thorough notes as you do. Then answer the review questions on the Worksheet at the end of the lesson. The Worksheets will be sent back to C.L.T.I. in three groups of 12.

2. There will be an exam following Lessons 1-12, 13-24 and 25-36. A proctored final exam will be given when all the work for the course has been completed. Full Proctor Instructions will be provided with the exam.

3. Book Reviews of the three assigned texts will be written, following the Book Review Format provided. Each review must be typewritten and a minimum of 750 words.

4. A Research Project will also be due by the end of the course. Write a minimum of 1,000 words on the subject of "My Definition Of A Visionary Leader And What I Need To Do To Be One." This project must also be typewritten.
